School News
Grant Elementary is being recognized for their work implementing an equitable, multi-level system of supports to close achievement gaps and increase the number of students who graduate.
These meetings will be held in the Nicholson Boardroom located in the Longfellow Administration Center at 415 Seymour Street in Wausau.
Even though he's retired, Maney continues to be a staple out at the Wausau School Forest, helping students get excited about outdoor learning. As we talk with former and current students, and Wausau School District staff, they describe him as an inspiring and impactful educator who truly made a difference in their lives. He's someone they will never forget. It's for those very reasons he was nominated to receive the Wisconsin School Forest Award.
The students designed stickers that will be shared with the students at the end of the school year. One winning sticker resulted in a billboard, promoting mental health and the 988 helpline.
A native of Wausau and a graduate of Wausau West High School, Viegut is more than qualified for this position. In fact, he's currently the Business Director for a school district in Montana. In all, he has a decade of experience doing accounting and finance work in education, non-profit, and private settings.
Mrs. Rodgers is highly qualified for this position; having been an associate principal at John Muir Middle School for the last several years. Mrs. Rodgers is excited to take on this new role especially since she already knows the Muir students, families, and staff.
